The university of essex southend campus
On the Southend Campus students also have access to the Southend Marine Activities Centre and swimming pool with Olympic diving facilities.
Sports scholarships are available for those that show talent to give help balancing studies with elite sport.
Washing clothes is very expensive for poor machines (I spent 15 quid on 2 loads of laundry that didn't even dry! So if you are struggling with a subject like statistics for example, you're in trouble unless you can catch your professor during office hours (typically once a week for 2 hours, so if you have class at that time, its hard to get them to make an appointment).
) I came here because Essex was said to have a very good international relations programme. At Essex, teachers assign a TON of reading and tell you to write an essay. There isn't room to voice all my issues here but I am hoping to withdraw soon.
- Sport at Essex is easily accessible and its completely free to join any club. The majority of sports clubs welcome members of all abilities. Very multi cultural University, there's a real global community at Essex.
- Brilliant academic support for students such as help with employability and studies.
Two miles from Colchester is the main campus, Wivenhoe Park, further afield is another campus in Southend-on-Sea and another, East 15 Acting School, which is based in Loughton.
On the campuses students will find shops, cafés, restaurants, food outlets, banks, a book shop, hairdressers and mobile phone shop.
There are also some great societies like the Public Speaking and many others. They engaged with me and and made the session very enjoyable. The University of Essex is situated near Colchester and is made up of three campuses.Disadvantages - Colchester is not a town that caters well to students.- The medical centre needs improvement (particularly their reception staff) - Campus can be confusing.
Love the SU, really nice people in there and there is always something to do at the weekend.
